Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S confirmed with Snapdragon 845 chip, launching March 27
July 15, 2025
Xiaomi is using the time frame of theMobile World Congress 2018trade show to reveal a phone that won’t actually be launched for another month. The China-based phone maker has confirmed it will release the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S on March 27.
The phone, which will be the successor to 2017’sMi Mix 2, (shown above) was confirmed by Xiaomi company spokesperson Donovan Sungin a Twitter post(viaThe Verge). He also confirmed that the Mi Mix 2S will use theQualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. That is the same chip that is rumored to be inside theSamsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plusin some markets, and that phone is expected to launch in mid-March.

Sung also threw in a mysterious number in his Twitter post, “273741”. That’s more than likely a reference to the phone’s possible score on the AnTuTu benchmark tool. If that’s indeed true, it shows that the Mi Mix 2S will be a very powerful smartphone when it launches.
The branding of the phone as the Mi Mix 2S may also be a reference that we may not see a lot of other major hardware changes in this phone, aside from the Snapdragon 845 chip. The Mi Mix 2 has the current processor champion, the Snapdragon 835, inside, along with a 5.99-inch display that has an 18:9 ratio and a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080. It also has 6 GB of RAM, storage option of 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB, and battery sizes of either 3,300 or 3,400 mAh. There’s no word on pricing or market availability for the Mi Mix 2, although its likely to be launched first in China and India.
