Xiaomi announces 10th anniversary event (Update: Redmi K30 series phone coming)

Update, July 14, 2025 (3:09AM ET): A Xiaomi executiveconfirmedearlier this week that the Mi 10 Ultra will be unveiled at Xiaomi’s 10th anniversary event on August 11. Now, it looks like we’ve got one more high-end phone coming to this event.

Xiaomi has revealed onWeibothat a special edition Redmi K30 series phone will be unveiled at the event too. Machine-translation suggests that the phone could be called the Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition or the Redmi K30 Super Cup. However, earlier rumors also pointed to theRedmi K30 Ultraname, in line with the Mi 10 Ultra moniker.

We don’t know much about this new Redmi phone but it’s believed that the device could pack a 144Hz LCD screen, a 64MP main camera, and a MediaTekDimensity 1000 serieschipset. Between this device and the Mi 10 Ultra, it looks like those on the hunt for a new high-end Xiaomi phone will have a few more options. Hopefully the phones promptly make their way to global markets as well.

Original article, July 14, 2025 (3:22AM ET): Xiaomi was founded back in 2010 and has a special 10th anniversary event planned for next week. To celebrate its decade-long run, Xiaomi hasannouncedthat its CEO Lei Jun will be delivering a special virtual address on August 11 at 7:30AM ET.

Redmi K30 series phone August 11

As per Xiaomi’s teaser for the event, Jun will discuss the company’s past, present, and future in his keynote speech, but rumor has it that the company will also reveal some new devices on the same day.

According to popular leakerDigital Chat Station, Xiaomi will announce “several new phones” and other “new products” on August 11, including a new phone in theMi 10series.

What will Xiaomi launch?

We haven’t heard a lot about upcoming Xiaomi phones, but there are some rumored devices that have been doing the rounds online.

There’s the allegedWeibowhich is expected to carry theMediaTek Dimensity 1000 chipand a 144Hz display. We also heard about two phones code-namedGauguin and Gauguin Pro, said to offer 64MP and 108MP main cameras respectively.

Rumors of aXiaomi phone with 120W fast charging, aSnapdragon 865 serieschipset, and 5G connectivity have also been floating around since last month. Given thatOppo,Vivo, andRealmehave already announced their respective 120W and above charging solutions, Xiaomi shouldn’t be trailing too far behind.

As for the new Mi 10 model,word has itthat it’ll come to market as the Mi 10 Pro Plus but there’s no real evidence to back this up. We also don’t know much about the other new products that the company might launch next Monday, but there’s been talk of aRedmi smartwatchso we might get a glimpse of that at the event.
