Weezer’s new music video is basically a 4-minute Pixel 5 ad
July 18, 2025
Los Angeles rock band Weezer has a habit of releasing a lot of albums and a lot of music videos to promote those albums. Today, the group dropped its latest video effort for the lead single off its new record. Dubbed “All My Favorite Songs,” the track’s lyrics center on frontman Rivers Cuomo’s simultaneous yearning to be social and reclusive.

Although there’s no announcement in the video or on the video’s YouTube page, it’s very likely Google helped fund the project. Not only do the band and entire cast use Pixel phones, but Cuomo even uses the “OK Google” hotword to start recording a video of bandmate Brian Bell. It’s a bit too Google-heavy to not have been financially supported by the Big G.

Regardless, the music video is fun and the song is pretty good. The story centers on two teens who don’t know each other but connect on the internet. However, the internet is magic and allows for the two to physically enter the same space. The two then head to Weezer’s rehearsal space where they find the band preoccupied with their Google Pixel 5 smartphones. Seriously.
Eventually, everyone is on their phones and the lead teen escapes back to his room. All is not lost, though, as he gets to add the girl he met as a friend on social media.
The video is mirrored above for you to check out. “All My Favorite Songs” appears on Weezer’s fourteenth (!!!) album which is titled OK Human. It lands on January 29. Maybe Google helped fund the album name, too?
