Samsung’s foldable phone might only be available on EE in the U.K.

August 09, 2025

Earlier this month at its developer conference, Samsung (somewhat) showed off its upcomingfoldable smartphone. Thanks to several rumors, we know that the handset will likely cost an arm and a leg when it arrives early next year, but we don’t know which carriers it will land on.

Thanks to a tip given toGizmodo, we might have a better idea where U.K. customers will be able to buy the futuristic smartphone.

According to the publication’s source, EE will be the only carrier in the country to sell the foldable Galaxy phone. Reportedly, the handset will be sold both on contract and SIM-free.

In addition to that piece of news,Gizmodo’ssource, who was confirmed to be a Samsung employee, confirmedrumors about the device’s price tag. Just as we reported previously, the foldable Galaxy will be priced between £1,500 and £2,000. The exact cost will be based on whichever RAM/storage model you want.

When asked for comment, Samsung gaveGizmodothe following statement:

For non-EE customers, you’ll likely still have a way to pick up the device. As with almost every Galaxy phone before it, the foldable handset should be sold unlocked directly from Samsung. You should then be able to throw another carrier’s SIM into the phone.

And as the device will likely be the company’smost expensive smartphone yet, we’re hoping that Samsung will offer a way to finance the handset.

What do you think about the Galaxy foldable phone? Do you think minimal carrier support will limit the handset’s success? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
