Samsung Galaxy Tab E will be avaliable for pre-order at AT&T starting May 6th

So far this year, Samsung has been less keen on having its tablets be seen, instead focusing on new smartphones like theGalaxy S7andGalaxy J (2016)series. That’s about to change however come Friday May 6th as AT&T will be opening pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab E.

Although AT&T’s press release had limited information regarding spec specifics,SamMobile has statedthe tablet will include an 8-inch TFT HD display (800 X 1280), a 1.3GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 410 SoC, Adreno 306 graphics, 1.5GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery. It ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0.

While the specs may be decidedly low-to-mid range, the price point isn’t set to break the bank as the tablet will be offered for $0 and $10 per month for 20 months with an AT&T Installment Plan. In addition the Galaxy Tab E can be added to a new or existing Mobile Share Value Plan for an extra $10 per month access fee.

Clearly the carrier sees the device as meant for media consumption as it states

A recent report has stated tablet sales – including those of Samsung’s products – are down from last year. Can the Galaxy Tab E help stem the sluggish shipments and sales? Only time will tell.
