Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie update pushed back to February?

June 07, 2025

Last week we reported on theGalaxy Note 9Android Pie updaterolling out in Germany, suggesting this was the start of its major rollout. However, this may not be the case, as Samsung’s Turkish portalGuncelmiyizindicates the update will instead roll out from February 1 (viaNashville Chatter).

TheGuncelmiyizwebsite, which Samsung owns, has update estimates for many of the company’s devices. It currently says theGalaxy Note 8,S8, and S8 PlusPie updates will roll out from February 15 and it previously said the Note 9 Pie update would roll out January 15. The Note 9’s update has evidently been delayed, as you’re able to see in the screenshot below.

These timelines tend to fluctuate and they rarely appear in all regions at the same time. Nevertheless, there’s a good chance you won’t see the Note 9 update until February now no matter where you are.

That’s unless you happen to be a beta user. Samsung started rolling out the update to some of those on its beta program in Germany around January 4. As it rolled out previous updates like this to beta and non-beta users alike, we suspected Samsung may do the same again. That doesn’t seem to be the case, but it may still deploy the upgrade to users on its beta track before regular users. It’s only an extra 95MB download, after all.
