August 20, 2025

Update: July 29, 2025 (7:34 AM ET):OnePlus confirmed display-related details for the Nord 2 yesterday, revealing a 90Hz OLED panel in line with the original Nord. Now,91mobilesandIshan Agarwalhave posted renders apparently showing the front of the device. Check it out below.

The renders also show a punch-hole cutout as you’d expect, as well as what appears to be an alert slider on the right-hand side. The latter would be a welcome feature as it’s been available on OnePlus phones for years now, although the likes of theOnePlus Nord N200have omitted this switch.

OnePlustook to Twitterto reveal that the Nord 2 will be equipped with a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED panel with HDR10+ certification. Check out a screenshot of the tweet below.

This means the Nord 2 essentially has the same screen as theoriginal Nord, which was equipped with a 6.44-inch 90Hz OLED panel and HDR10+ support. The original Nord offered an FHD+ resolution, so we’re guessing the successor is equipped with a similar display resolution too.

The original Nord was ahead of its time in this regard, combining high refresh rates and OLED panels at a time when it was rare to find both technologies in the same screen. But the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi have caught up in recent months by releasing mid-range phones with high refresh rate OLED screens, such as theGalaxy A52 seriesand theRedmi Note 10 Pro.

Nevertheless, a 90Hz OLED panel is still pretty solid for a mid-range phone in 2021. But we hope OnePlus is upgrading the Nord 2 in other areas, such as the camera experience, battery life, and charging speeds. Are you happy with the Nord 2’s screen choice? Let us know via the poll below.
