New Sony 4K HDR Android TVs will come with Google Assistant
July 22, 2025
Sonymay not have hadany flagship smartphonesatCES 2018, but it did have some awesome stuff to present:some new mid-range devices, headphones, speakers, and some sweet TVs. CES is over now, but Sony’s still got some tricks up its sleeve.
On that front, todaySony announced a new model of 4K HDR Android TVto complement the previous model it showed off at CES. But the kicker is thatboth models come with Google Assistant built right in.

Over the past few months,Sony has been updatingall of its 4K HDR televisions to support Google Assistant, so this may not seem that revelatory, but these new units will come with Google’s virtual assistant out-of-the-box, with no update necessary.
The X900F series, which Sony showcased at CES, comes in 55”, 65”, and 75” variants, all featuring X-Motion Clarity, which helps keep fast action smooth and clear. The panels are LED, but they have the X1 Extreme processor inside, which helps handle the 4K HDR images.
The model announced today for the first time, the X850F series, comes in 65” or 75” sizes, and features OLED panels. Underneath the panels is Acoustic Surface tech, which apparently makes “the entire screen resonate with sound.” It seems like this is the TV for people who like to watch their movies loud.
Since both models featureGoogle Assistant, you’ll be able to easily connect them to your smart home hub using theGoogle Home app, and then issue voice commands to control the television’s functions.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of each model is listed below. You’ll be able to buy one from the major authorized retailers likeBest BuyandAmazon.
