Looking to buy the LG G7 ThinQ on AT&T? You’re out of luck
July 31, 2025
Most major retailers and carriers, at least in the U.S., tend to carry all the new LG flagships. ButAT&Tis bucking that trend this year.
In a statement toThe Verge, AT&T confirmed that it has no plans to carry the newLG G7 ThinQflagship. Instead, the carrier will launch a newLGdevice this summer that will be exclusively offered on AT&T’s network.

For the past several years, LG has offered two main flagship smartphones each year — a G-series device early on to compete with the new Galaxy S phone, and a V-series device later in the year to compete with the Note. It’s not out of the ordinary for smartphone makers to launch one-off devices midway through the year, so this LG phone really could be anything.
It’s worth noting that LG CEO Cho Sung-jin commented on the future of the company’s smartphone strategyin an interview at CES 2018. He said the company plans to only unveil new smartphones as needed, and will not launch devices just because rivals do. He went on to say:

Could this AT&T-exclusive device be another G7 variant? It wouldn’t surprise us, though we’re just speculating for now.
For everyone who isn’t an AT&T customer, you’re in luck: all the other major carriersplan to sell the LG G7 ThinQ. Pre-orders begin at Verizon on May 24, followed by Sprint on May 25.
