HONOR Vision launched: What to know about the first HarmonyOS device?

We’ve known for a few weeks now that theHONOR VisionTV was coming, andHuaweiconfirmed that it would be the first device featuring its newHarmonyOSplatform. Now,Honorhas launched the TV in China, so what should you expect from the device?

The HONOR Vision packs a 55-inch 4K HDR display (LED) with a screen/body ratio of “up to 94 percent” according to the HUAWEI sub-brand. But arguably the standout design choice is the 4MPpop-up camera(1/2.7-inch), enabling 1080p video calls. HONOR adds that the camera is able to rotate downwards by ten degrees in case the TV is wall-mounted.

Core specs include a quad-core Honghu 818 chipset (two Cortex-A73 and two Cortex-A53 cores), Mali-G51 MP4 GPU, and anNPU(Hi3516DV300). The NPU enables facial recognition, body tracking, and posture detection, although further details weren’t disclosed by the company.

Other details worth knowing include NFC, Bluetooth 5, three HDMI 2.0 ports, a USB 3.0 port, Ethernet input, the YoYo voice assistant, and HONOR-Link. The latter feature allows you to use a smartphone or tablet to search for programs and adjust settings on the TV, while also letting you project files.

TheHONOR Visionwill go on sale in China this month, starting at 3,799 yuan (~$538) for the 2GB/16GB variant, and 4,799 yuan (~$679) for the 2GB/32GB option.

HONOR says a wider launch is still “under planning” but added that Google Assistant would be their first choice to replace YoYo. Would you buy the HONOR Vision? Let us know in the comments!
