Google Duplex rolling out now to non-Pixel phones in the US

July 20, 2025

Google Duplex— which debuted last year atGoogle I/O 2018— is a tool which allows theGoogle Assistantto call a business and make a reservation for you. The system is ideal for people who are looking to book a table at a restaurant when a restaurant doesn’t have an online booking system (or even if it does).

When Google Duplex finally made its way to consumers, it was limited to onlyGoogle Pixel 3owners in certain areas of the country. After that, it made its way to other Pixel phones such as theGoogle Pixel 2and also received support in 47 states.

Now, it appears Google Duplex is making its way to non-Pixel Android devices, as first spotted byXDA Developers.

XDA’stesting confirmed that Google Duplex is working on theSamsung Galaxy S10 Plus, while our own testing confirmed it is working on theOnePlus 6andOnePlus 6T. Below you’ll find screenshots of Google Duplex working on the OnePlus 6:

Using Google Duplex is incredibly easy, and the on-screen prompts allow you to use either your voice to arrange the reservation or just tap the pre-loaded responses.

Unfortunately, Duplex is not yet available for Google Home devices — such as theGoogle Home Hubor theGoogle Home Mini— nor is it available for smartphones outside the United States. Since Google’s servers control the actual phone call action, there’s no way around this country limitation, unfortunately.

If you have a device that’s not a Galaxy S10, OnePlus 6, or OnePlus 6T, see if you can perform the steps above to make a reservation. You can easily cancel the process at the very end when Assistant asks you to confirm all the information before it makes the call, so you don’t have to worry about making a fake reservation.

If you have success, let us know in the comments which phone it worked on and where you are located!
