Faster charging may not be offered on every Galaxy S30 model

August 22, 2025

Those hoping for faster charging across theSamsung Galaxy S30family will be disappointed by new information stemming from China.

Spotted byMyFixGuide(viaGSMArena), a new listing on China’s 3C certification website seemingly sheds light on the Galaxy S30’s charging speed. The phone in question sports the model number SM-G991. Based on Samsung’s model naming structure, it’s believed to be the bottom rung phone on the ladder.

Galaxy S20 screen plus punchole

The listing suggests the phone will support 25W charging, a far cry from the65W chargingmentioned in a previous leak. It doesn’t rubbish the rumored existence of Samsung’s faster charging tech, but could point to the firm reserving it for the more premium models. It did just that with theS20 Ultra‘s 45W charging support.

It’s also possible that the charging speed is limited by the charger itself, not necessarily the phone. While Samsung may actually include a charger in the box unlike Apple’siPhone 12, it may again ask users tospend more cashto grab a faster charger.

We’ve seen a slew of charging and battery-related leaks for the Galaxy S30 series thus far. Based on anearlier 3C listing, the Galaxy S30 may stick with a 4,000mAh battery. The purported Galaxy S30 Ultra may keep the S20 Ultra’s 5,000mAh capacity, too. Notably, it’s the S30 Plus that may see a buff to 4,800mAh, making it a more attractive option for road warriors.

We’re likely still a few months away from Samsung’s next flagship launch, so expect rumors, leaks, and listings to emerge before then.
