Are the new TrueConnect wireless earbuds the AirPods of Android?

June 09, 2025

Glasgow-based RHA unveiled its debuttrue wirelessearphones: the TrueConnect. The included earbuds feature a stem design much like the ubiquitousApple AirPods. Unlike the AirPods, however, the TrueConnect operates via Bluetooth 5.0 and is water-resistant with an IPX5 rating to show for it.

The company’s explanation for the stem design is rooted in improved call quality; said stems house integrated antennae and facilitate closer positioning of the microphone. Rather than cramming all of the internals into a small space, the extension allows for the earbuds to fit flush against the ear, rather than protruding outward like the markedly cheaperJLab JBuds Air.

RHA combats the true wireless earbud reputation of poor battery life by supplying the TrueConnect earbuds a standalone 5 hours of playback, with the charging case adding another 20 hours.

The TrueConnect is available for pre-order now from $169.95 and will be available for purchase on October 18.
